John reached out to greet me as a new member of VFP around 2015. He always had a kind word and a hearty handshake for me and took a personal interest in my work as a filmmaker for peace. I so enjoyed and was continuously inspired by John as a man for all seasons. I will sorely miss my friend.

John was a wonderful colleague and pal.  He and Claire remained in touch long after we had all retired from MTA, a place that gave us so much to work for and so many to care about.  The holiday poems were always an inspiration and a reminder of the important things in life. Rest in peace, John.
