I worked with John at ANMC for the last 13 years. I am a surgeon and regularly seek out input from my radiology colleagues on interesting/challenging cases. I always enjoyed John's wry humor and humble style while appreciating his knowledge, skill and clarity in his work. He will be sorely missed. I am sorry he did not have the opportunity to enjoy the long leisurely retirement he deserved.
I worked at ANMC for 34 yrs starting in 1981 as a young physical therapist. My first met John in the early/mid 1980s, I was on a clinic trip to Kotzebue, was a young doc there. He took me on a moonlight trip across the tundra on his dog sled, Dream-like, never to be forgotten We shared many years at ANMC. Will miss him much.
