Grandpa
I miss you so much! I hope you are at peace in Heaven. The words I whispered to you, I will keep true. Memories flood back to me of all the times we've shared. Your house is home to me, you and Grandma are my home, my comfort and what I hope to continue to build with David. I cherish you both. I'll love you forever! Love, Melissa

Hey Pops. Took mom up to the cabin yesterday, we had lunch at that one restaurant overlooking the Stanislaus River in strawberry.
Saved a seat for you but we know your sitting in a much better seat then any of us. A son couldn't ask for a better father, love you always your # 2 son Jesse.
Nino, you're in my heart and on my mind every day that passes. I hope you saw my tribute to you in Hawaii, it was beautiful. My Birthday will now forever be an honor and a memorial for you and I am grateful for that. We have an everlasting bond now. Nino you are such a huge part of my life, ever since I was born, I am blessed to be your God-daughter. I love and miss you, Sonia
Me again Nino, you know I talk too much :) not like you, quiet and soft spoken. I do take after you Nino in my love for Ranchera Music, it was your favorite as it is mine. All of the songs remind me of you now, especially "un puno de tierra." Watch over us all Nino and send me signs if you'd like to, I received your sign of my watch I will treasure it always. I love you, Sonia
Uncle Nuna, You were a great and caring Uncle. We share a very special day together our birthdays! I have wonderful memories growing up of all our family vacations, camping, going to Tecate, Ensenada and other fun outtings. We will forever miss you in all our family gatherings. Rest in peace with your parents and siblings. Watch over us all. Love your niece Irene
Grandpa,
As much as I miss you, I know you're in good hands now. I just wanted to let you know that every morning when I wake up, it'll be with an upsy daisy and a smile on my face because of you. Give us all strength in the next few days as we say our goodbyes for now to an amazing man who is a role model to us all. I love you always, Lauren
Grandpa,
The Navy gets the gravy and the Army gets the beans beans beans beans beans. I remember you singing that to me when I was little to get me to eat my beans. Now they are one of my favorite foods and everytime I eat them I sing that song to myself.
Miss you so much! Love you forever! Love Melissa
I have many good childhood memories of my Tio Nuna growing up, especially around our Abuelita Teresita’s in the Evergreen (Eastside/Southside) area of San Jose. The world and San Jose were very different back then and much has changed as we have.
Returning from the service, both Tios, Nuna & Kiko(Frank), along with my Dad taught and would run me (Rocky Jr.)
thru drills, twirling my Daisy BB rifle and presenting arms. We often enjoyed a little target practice competition. I took great satisfaction in my sharpshooter abilities, admiring Uncle Nuna’s trophy that was and has been proudly displayed for years first at the extended family home and later at his own. I can also remember an early date where I “chaperoned” John & Angie at the movies-RB
I can’t remember how old I was, and don’t ask what the movie was. I doubt they told anyone it was at the Drive-In! All I remember was being afraid to take my eyes off the screen, and that we left after only a very short time at the show. The 2 tone/green Pontiac & that hood ornament are sharp visual memories. Now either Nuna was a sly operator, or Angie knew how to weave that web. (Rocky)
Who’s zoomin who? Barrera or Sanchez, hard to say as both families seem adept at making things happen. Anyway, I just remember him being lighthearted, easy-going, & loving sports…He was always very welcoming and good at making you feel comfortable. He left us all way too soon& will be missed, but his spirit will live on through all of us who hold onto these precious memories. (Rocky Jr.)
Every time I watch golf or boxing, I’ll think of him. I know he’ll be in the corner with every Mex-y-CAN!
Rocky Barrera Jr.
Grandpa,
I love you and I miss you! Wish I could hear you playing your guitar and singing right now.
Love you forever,
Melissa
John,
Today was Saturday. We got together as always. Toasted to you. I showed Angie the swine I have planned for you. It will have a Bird of Paradise in honor of you. Soon a plaque will host it. Tonight Angie will stay with us. And tomorrow we'll take Angie to Ocean Beach. Always thinking of you. Love you John. You'll always hear from us.
Grandpa,
Got your sign today! Thank you!! Love knowing you are around me. I'm drinking some ice cold water for you!
Love you forever!
Melissa
Nino, you were on my mind and in my heart a lot this weekend. I finally listened to Ramon Ayala again, I know you were listening to him with me. It was hard, but then it brought a big smile to my face :) RIP Nino, forever in my heart!
Thinking of you a lot Nino, missing you. Was looking at some pictures from days gone by, you'll always be in my heart. Love you Nino!
Hi Grandpa,
Missing you a lot! Been thinking about you all the time. How I wish you were still here with us. To hear your laugh, to hear the sound of your guitar. You are such an important part of my life. It's hard not being able to see you, sitting in your chair, or out back swinging your golf clubs. I hope you know how much I love you! Melissa
Happy Birthday Pops ??
