At QHS, he was never my teacher, but he was a friendly, challenging advisor to those of us who wrote for the school paper.  In college, I got to know him better as the advisor to a Lake George coffeehouse, The Summer Place.  Over the years, he influenced my own decision to become a teacher.  He loved poetry, music, humor, people and life in general.  I'll miss him.
