I remember John as a founding English dept. member who taught for decades at BHCC. He was open, honest, funny, and calming. Devoted to his students and the faculty he earned the respect of all. He was active in the faculty/professional staff union of 180, including chapter vice-president. Family man, friend, humanist, he did it all well. An example for others.
