Mr. Hathaway was a great marching band teacher and orchestra leader for all of the high school musicals when I was a student at Oak Grove. He also was one of the "expert evaluators" of outside reading for the Advanced Humanities class.  When I joined the staff at OG 4 years later, he welcomed me and told me to ask if I needed any help.  He was always giving and kind to both kids and staff.

Mr. Hathaway was my all time favorite teacher!  I was in the Oak Grove band from 1978 to 1981.  He led us to our first victories in competitions, as well as challenging us as musicians.  He was an outstanding teacher, and I have such fond memories of him.  My sympathies to his family.
