Joan was one of my mothers best friends.They became friends in their 20's. I always fondly enjoyed her visiting my mother on Cape or in Newton She was always interested in my life and was s great listener. I was fortunate many times to share my life with her and thoughts of what I was interested in and she listened with great interests and provided insight wisdom in such caring gentle way

What I will miss most about Joan are the one on one conversations we had while sitting at the dining table, with either a cup of coffee or a glass of wine in hand. Sharing our stories and our opinions was always fun and respectful. Her ability to listen and to express herself were a pleasure to be a part of. I will miss her.
