“Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in the joints and very shabby. But these things don’t matter at all, because once you are Real you can’t be ugly, except to people who don’t understand.”
The Velveteen Rabbit by Margery Williams Bianco
“Love isn’t always feel-good or pretty; we can get hurt. The wear and tear of love takes a toll on us, but it’s very needed for us to be real.”
“Once you are real you can’t become unreal again. It lasts for always.”
“When a child loves you for a long, long time, not just to play with, but REALLY loves you, then you become Real.”
The Velveteen Rabbit by Margery Williams Bianco
Thank you for sharing the special photos with your mother.
Joan Marie's eyes depict the love she had for her family.
Priceless. God bless everyone that filled her heart with JOY.

It was so sad to hear Aunt Joan had passed. I haven't seen her in years but I remember her always smiling and full of laughter. I loved seeing the pictures you girls shared. You can tell she really enjoyed her grandkids. So sorry for your loss.
Graveside service will be on June 24, 2017, 10 A.M. at Calvary Cemetery Toledo, OH.
