Joan
a wonderful life in service to others. It was breathtaking for me to read the litany of her many contributions and  her incredible resilience. Her 22 moves, pursuit of graduate degrees, teaching, volunteering, being a mom and bringing happiness and joy to those with whom she worked and met compose the rich life she lived.

Joan was a beautiful person and it was a true pleasure to have known her.

Joan Jacobsen was a wonderful woman who I had the distinct honor of assisting her in my role at Draper Lab Publications. When her husband became president Joan was working on her PHD. I helped her arrange publication of documents, printing and accompanying her to the Post Office to arrange mass mailing. They tried to slow her down with red tape and double talk and they picked the wrong lay

I remember when they lived in LA.  I worked for Gen. Jake at the time.  While not in her immediate circle of friends, she would always call on me when Jake was on the road, if something broke down at the house.  I lived near to them and as a Comm Geek and general technician, I'd run ringht over with toolbox in hand.   She was truly a great lady and I will miss her.
