Joan,
We all believe that you are in a better place now, and at rest.

Tough cookie with a sweet soul  Mrs B. Was always so wonderful to me and always asked How my family and I were doing and I always appreciated the gesture. She was such a loving mother and when she became a grandmother she was so happy and proud. I’ll miss her a lot. Love you Roy

She was, above all, one of the kindest and most thoughtful people I have ever met. She had both inner strength and inner radiance. I felt special just to be in her presence.
She was also a unique, powerful female outside her family. She opened my first bank account at the Atlantic Savings Bank in the Prattville section of Chelsea when I was around 12. She protected the hard-earned cash I earned from shoveling the sidewalks and raking the tiny lawns of Chelsea. I had the account for 7 years.
As my best friend’s aunt, she became my aunt as well. Because of Joanie, I had the pleasure of knowing Sandy and, of course, her son, Jim.
I will miss her so very much.
All of my thoughts are with her family at this time. May she rest in peace.
