I am so sorry to read about my cousin's passing. Although we were not close I did see her occasionally before her parents died.

I knew Joan as students at State Teachers College at Boston from 1955 to 1959.  We were friends after graduation as well.  It was unfortunate that her love of teaching was cut short around 1970 when her petite mal epilepsy became worse and she had to retire..  I will always remember her bright red hair and big blue eyes as well as her kind and gentle way.  May she rest in peace.
