Joan and I have been friends since we were 13 years of age .  I remember that day just as if it was yesterday.  Even at that time, she had a big heart and soon became my mentor.  I learned a great deal from the unconditional love she gave at all times.

Joan was one of my closest friends.  Her absence leaves me without words. It will be a comfort for me to participate in her Memorial Service even though it will from my computer rather than in person.  Tom, you were an extraordinary husband.  On Joan's behalf, I once again thank you.
