Jeannine and I were Gamma Phi sisters together in Nebraska and stayed close after we both moved to California after college. I'm so sad to hear of her passing. She was one of the funniest (and most fun!) people I've ever known. She grabbed life by the horns and was afraid of nothing. The seven of us sorority sisters always had a blast together. Jeannine ("Ishneen") hosted our Gamma Phi reunions several times at her home in Santa Barbara. She came up with special, personalized games for us every time. She was the hostess with the mostess! My most recent memory of Jeannine is from about 20 years ago when we took a weekend trip to Carmel, just the two of us, right after I retired from teaching. We had a great time, of course! She was a wonderful friend who I will miss dearly, as will the rest of our Gamma Phi crew. Much love to all of her family.

I knew Janine in her Santa Barbara phase. I rented a room in her house as did Maryanne Stusser. It was very helpful for me at a change point in my life. She had such a fun energy and we all enjoyed each other and her playfulness and joy. I remember her VW convertible and her zippy persona. Lovely how she asked funeral attendees to wear bright colors. Grateful to Janine ….
