My name is Bob Cowden I graduated from Camden high school San Jose in 1980
I knew Janyce Mainly during my senior year she was friends with mutual friends of mine. Sometimes we have lunch together the standard sandwich three pack of chocolate zingers and two cokes. One day while walking through the quad she yelled at me to come over and when I did she asked me if I had a pair of shorts that she could use cause she had PE that next class and forgot to bring her uniform from home this was on a Monday being a runner I had a couple pairs of dolphin running shorts so I loaned her a pair any runners out there that remember the shorts they came with the liner inside underwear already attached so your boys didn’t get chapped. She started to make fun of me in the quad with everybody around saying that my shorts had panties in them I still remember to this day her laughing and saying out loud that I wore panties under my shorts she had a great time humiliated me even though these are actual running shorts I haven’t thought about this till I So today’s obituary Needless to say she really embarrassed me that day and she had quite the fun doing it she borrowed my running shorts and I never saw them again after high school our paths never crossed I wish knowing her back then we would’ve kept in touch she was a lot of fun and she really will be missed

I am sad beyond words to hear that Janyce has passed. I knew Janyce in a different time. She was young, vibrant, and full of energy, smiles and laughter. She had the kind of energy and spirit you had to run to keep up with. So full of life. I had opened a business and was struggling. No matter what mood I was in or how tired I was Janyce’s friendship, boundless energy, smiles and laughter never failed to turn my day around. She had the kind of energy and spirit that was as contagious as it was magnetic. You couldn’t be around her and not laugh and smile. Our lives went in different directions and we lost touch. Something I will always regret. I will always remember her driving around in her Falcon Sprint convertible with her dog Spot. My greatest hope is that her later years were full of the same laughter and smiles that she so kindly brought into my life.
