To the Murray’s,
My heart continues to break over the loss of this incredibly beautiful and strong woman. The love she gave and the love she got in return will carry her 3 lifetimes over.
Sending hugs to you all,
June

Janet was simply a wonderful person--warm, giving, committed to the causes she cared deeply about and concerned about people who often are relegated to the sidelines, unseen and unheard. She had a great sense of humor and was a joy to be around. Her love for her husband, children and the rest of the family was boundless. Her ability to give and then give some more is inspiring.

I knew Janet for twenty years when I was married to Louis Kampf. I remember her warmth, her non-nonsense and pragmatic stance in life, and the little house where she and Jeff lived with their children. She was everything Jean Jackson describes her as being. Especially "Her ability to give and then give some more." I remember her dedication to all the wonderful work she did. She was unique.

We met in '78, soon after I moved here. Janet, produce manager, me, first woman coop truck driver. I'd meet Leonard at Chelsea market 6am, pick up our orders, deliver to coop. Later we did the Elder's Mobile Market together. I drove the bus. I was so young, you were so warm and easy and generous of spirit. Always remembered. Condolences to Jeff and all family.
