Jane, hoping that you're in some blissful version of Thimble Cottage, having all of the friends you've lost these last years over for perfect gin-tonics in the garden. Miss you and rest easy.
Jane, I will always remember your humor and advice during my volunteer visits. You were the highlight of my week and I will never forget that time we enjoyed together. Rest In Peace my friend.
Dear Jane, We went to Marblehead on Friday. The town is so beautiful with a cool wind sweeping in from the ocean. You were in our thoughts and prayers. Much love always. Felice
I think of you every day Jane, especially walking home from work. What an eye you have, and you taught me so much. And we laughed so much. Love you.
Dear Finley,
For some reason could not access the tribute page for your Mom - but did want to say something - maybe you would post this? or share with Wiley at least?
The picture on the website - so perfect - that smiling quizzical look I remember so well - the glasses that aways seemed so glamorous when I was young!
You and your family were in California several times during our growing up as I remember. 'Aunt Jane' - your mom to our family - was from Boston, but somehow she always encapsulated Southern California 's exotic glamour to me as well.
She was wise in many ways - a true observer. She llstened - she did not offer her own thoughts too often - what she said resonated. I have never forgotten her admonition one night - I think Wylie and I were lying under the Christmas tree at 507, looking up at the branches, your Mom and my parents a short distance away quietly enjoying cocktails. I emerged at one point and your Mother said - apropos of I cannot remember what - "You have a lot to look forward to being a grown up " - and I felt as she said it she was proof - she was having fun.
I'm so thankful to have seen her a few years ago in Boston - she truly seemed so little changed. The same - or very similar - glasses - the same chic. the same warmth.
I think of her now - all of us in a pew at Holy Trinity on a Christmas Eve - softly sing the plain song.
Always, with love, John

I met Jane in 2018. My own mother had passed the year before and Jane was very kind to me, truly understanding how deeply I felt my loss. I learned many things from her, classiest of classy New Englanders:
1. How to eat a lobster roll
2. Never eat oysters in months that have the letter R in them
3. How to properly tie a scarf around your neck
4. The value of quality sheets
5. Prosciutto must be thin sliced
6. The importance of friends
7. A sip of a margarita at dinnertime is better than none at all
8. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, rest and doing it all again the next day and there is so much beauty and joy within.
Thank you Jane. I miss you and love you always.
Felice
