Jane was the most compassionate person I have ever known.  She is the person I admire most.  I always thought of her as the recipient of the Giraffe Heroes Award given to leaders who stick their neck out and take significant risk for public good.  She was known as a fearless advocate for homeless and low-income women.  In truth, she was a fearless advocate for everyone she knew!
