JJ was a wonderful guy to know, always enthusiastic about whatever he was doing and willing to be helpful in any way that he could. His ongoing interest in and support for Duke University continues to benefit the students who attend. He leaves behind those like me who always respected his commitment to Duke and enjoyed his friendship over the years. John Koskinen
JJ was the chair of the first committee (HR) I joined on the Duke Board of Trustees. I was immediately impressed by his knowledge, of course, but one detail really stood out: he brought his meeting materials to every meeting in a canvas bag covered in artwork by his grandchildren!
