I have known Jim since our freshman year at St. Francis. He has been a dear friend for 66 years.Jim was a big lovable teddy bear with a great sense of humor. Whenever he came over to visit he would keep my mother in stitches with his sense of humor. Never saw Jim angry. He played in The Calvo Golf tourney in Reno every year until he could no longer. Missed but not forgotten.
I was a trainee of Jim’s while at Mountain View Police. Jim did my background as well. Jim and I had vocabulary competitions to pass time between calls while I was training with him, and yes-his dry humor matched mine. I respected Jim tremendously. I just saw this obituary and was saddened at his passing-RIP Jim, you were one of the finest.
