A larger than life man who created a personal and intimate connection with so many. A true extrovert, he loved his wife, his family, his school, fitness, sports, people, and, always, his Cadillacs. He lives on through his large family and those of us who were extensions of la famille. With condolences to Karen, Kathleen, Kim, Kevin and, especially, Kerrie Jo.
Your big heart will be missed by all. You certainly leave a legacy with your children and grandchildren. Sweet dreams dad. Love you!

Jim was the the longtime Heisman Trophy State Representative for California. He was a good friend to the Heisman Trophy Trust and took great pride in his role overseeing the California electorate. It was always a pleasure to work with Jim. I will miss our calls.
I extend my deepest sympathy to Jane and his entire family. - Tim Henning, Heisman Trophy Trust
Jim was a true Notre Dame man. He advertised his books in Blue & Gold Illustrated. He always let me know when he and Jane would be in town so we could visit. He had a way of making me feel like what I was saying was the most important thing to him. And to treasure my girls. He will be missed. Rest in Peace, Jim. Deepest condolences to Jane and the entire family. ~Michelle Hamilton
Dear Kerrie and Family,
Your Dad was so inspiring - always up, positive and with great stories to share.
Of course, he loved Notre Dame and they have never had a better ambassador.
With condolences and love to you all - Susan Hayes
