For 35 years at the Anchorage Daily News, Jackie was someone I was always glad to see. She was friend, pagebuilder, partner in design who could sand rough edges and make pages work on the fly. There was joy in working with her, trust and laughter that could be deadline manic or just plain heartfelt. When we finished pages, I'd say "Thanks, Jackie." Saying it again tonight.
