I'm truly sorry to hear of Irene's passing. She was one of the most elegant women I've ever known, always beautifully coiffed and attired. I enjoyed discussing books and history with her. Irene was also a considerate woman. In more recent years, she never failed to ask me how my mother (who has dementia) was doing. I know it's a cliche, but they don't make them like Irene anymore!
