Many, many years ago, Irene took a guitar course I taught at Monty Tech in the evening. She was such a joy and I've thought of her often over the years. My life is richer for having known her, even for just a short time.

Irene was a devoted educator who took a sincere, genuine interest in her students. I enjoyed her company and have good memories of our teaching time together.

Irene saved my life in high school. She just took in a troubled kid.. Took me a few years to get it together but I'm where I am because of her. That's how she was. She made the world a better place.
