This memorial website was created in memory of our beloved Ingrid Stuart, born June 14, 1960, who died on May 23, 2020. We will remember her forever.
Ingrid had many great qualities but the greatest was her constant wit. She had the ability to get instantly to the truth with a simple witticism. We shall miss her immensely.
Ingrid was my first best friend. She was kind and fun and strong. I loved her. This world is a far poorer place for her passing.
Ingrid was quick to recognize life's absurdities, and even quicker to laugh at them. She was witty without ever being cruel, even when you were the target of that wit. She deserved a much longer life and one far less burdened then that which she bore with such extraordinary grace. I'll miss you, Scout.
Ingrid I will so miss your smile and presence at our book clubs. I will always remember how my dogs would NOT leave you alone when you were at my home. They always gravitate towards the best people.
Much love to you, Denis.
An example of Ingrid's spot-on humor. Ingrid & Denis were married at a splendid central Massachusetts resort. On a beautiful day, during the outdoor hilltop wedding ceremony, we could hear rapid gunfire from a military camp's exercises in the valley below. After the vows, Ingrid turned to the assembled and said: "You've heard of a shotgun wedding? We had a machine-gun wedding!"
I was surprised to hear of Ingrid's passing! Ingrid was a neighbor of ours on Sherborne Circle and I have fond memories of hanging out with her as young children. Ingrid went thru a lot as a child but she was always so sweet and determined. I will remember her fondly. I am praying for her family at this time! I am so sorry for your loss.
As Ingrid's stepdaughter and now a parent myself, I appreciate her profound empathy and gentle curiosity about people, and how she treated children as people. My son Theo, (much like my dog, now that you mention it above, Crystal) simply could not leave 'Ingy' alone and demanded that she read him book after book...all chosen by Ingrid to delight my peculiar kid. We will love her always.
I always loved Ingrid’s wit and sense of humor! We both shared a love of animals, and I loved sharing our experiences with animal. I didn’t realize until now that we also have the same birthday, so I now feel an additional connection. She is very missed.
Ingrid was my first friend. I don’t remember the world without her. We met on the school bus going to Kindergarten and I’ve loved her ever since. She had a dry wit and was kind and loyal and generous. I will miss her for the rest of my life.
Sometimes I am stunned by how deeply I feel the loss of certain people. Ingrid is absolutely one of those. Our friendship was primarily one in very young elementary years and many of my memories are goofy ones of that period of life. I love that I got to meet with Ingy at Wellesley College a number of years ago to walk and catch up. And even having the superficial contact on FB was a joy.
Luminescent, kind, witty, and brave are all words that come to my mind in thinking about Ingrid, but none of those words captures the exceptional radiance she had. I am thankful to have had her in my life and will miss her very much.
When I think of Ingrid I smile, remembering the fun times we had together. We both shared an intense love for animals. We both volunteered and then worked for Weston Veterinary Clinic. She was a very kind and thoughtful person with an amazing sense off humor. She once told me that her dad’s glider trailer was for his grey hounds, and I believed her!
I am so sad to hear that you have passed, Ingrid. I so enjoyed working with you at NEDC on that Fail Safe project. Your sense of humor, wit and perspective on things were so fun. Since I moved away, I've enjoyed seeing/connecting with you on FB however little that was and found comfort in knowing that you were well. My sincerest condolences to the family for the loss.
A sad day for all from the Weston Class of ‘78. Ingrid was a kind, caring person with an infectious smile. She was a natural with animals, who are the best judge of character. I remember when she worked at Weston Vet and think of her sometimes when I drive by the clinic. Thoughts, love and prayers to her family.
I’m so sad to hear of Ingrids passing. Ingrid was one of my very first friends as a little girl. Her bright, friendly smile and kind, soft way is something I’ll always hold close to my heart.
With condolences to her friends and family, she will be truly missed.
Ingrid was my “new hire buddy” at MathWorks. I was very lucky to have her as a friend and mentor during those years. Ingrid was kind, funny, curious, and incredibly smart. She was passionate about getting things right but always kind and polite when she was explaining something. She will be missed.
As a friend of Ingrid’s sister Kathy I have heard many loving, happy, funny, and heartfelt stories about the Stuart sister and family adventures. Kathy’s face was always lit with love when she talked about Ingrid. I met Ingrid at least once, she was always full of life, happy and smiling. Quite a person! Sending love.
I am so sad to hear this news.
Ingrid was one of my earliest grade school friends when I first moved to Weston in 1970. We both shared a love of animals and had a great time together visiting each other’s houses. I remember her as kind, warm and genuine.
Although our paths haven't crossed since graduation from Weston, when I learned of Ingrid's death, the thought of her instantly brought to mind images of a charming, smiling, laughing, energetic person who brought a joyful atmosphere everywhere she went. She was definitely a gift and a bright light to all who had the privilege of knowing her! May her spirit live on in all our hearts!
I am shocked and saddened to learn of Ingrid's passing. We were classmates in school in Weston. I remember Ingrid's joyful energy, her quick wit and intelligence, and her kindness to me. A beautiful soul has been taken from this world much to soon. May she rest in peace.
Such a sad sad news, we all here think of you very much, I did bring the flowers from Šumava - dear Denis- as I promised - for Ingrid!
Thank you for sending us your moving message. We think of you, fondest love
Happy Birthday little sister.
You are here in my heart, bringing me joy with your kindness and dry humor.
I found this quote on a sticky note that Ingrid left on her computer recently: "Love makes memories and life precious; the grief that comes to us is proportionate to that love and is inescapable". - V.S. Naipaul
We are shocked and saddened to hear of Ingrid passing. We remember visiting you guys and having a great afternoon. Even We don’t forget that she attended in our graduation! It was a pleasure talking with her.
May she Rest In Peace
Dear friends of Ingrid,
A year ago today, Ingrid's long ordeal ended and our life without her began. How I wish she could have seen the outpouring of love for her on this memorial page. I like to think that she knew you would say and feel these things, and that it comforted her at the end.
I was so sad to hear of Ingrid's passing. I grew up next door to the Stuart's and was a year apart in school from Ingrid. I have very fond memories of her. She endured some surgeries in her early life and I remember playing games and cards in her room. She was nice to be around... always good-natured and funny. My heart goes out to the Stuart and Bradford families and to her friends.
Happy Birthday Ingrid ... wherever you are!
Funny how time telescopes: the day you were born seems like only yesterday, yet the year since you've been gone seems like forever.
I miss you so very much!
Happy Birthday Ingrid
It's been 5 years now, and I still miss you so much
