We enjoy Hugo's paintings on a daily basis. Especially dear to me now is an oil painting of surfers in Santa Cruz that Hugo gifted to our son Peter probably 20 years ago. Since Peter passed away while surfing earlier this year, I brought this painting from his house to ours. I feel the spirit of both Peter and Hugo when I look at this painting every day, bringing me both joy and sadness
