There is so much that I can say about Hank,  First and foremost Hank was my beloved brother in Christ in every sense of the word.  His love for God, His Son and His Word was inspiring to me and to all he met.
Secondly, his devotion to his ministry of retaining teachings and music was pleasing to God and all the brethren that he shared them with will stay with me.

Hank, When our paths crossed throughout the years, Your smile warm friendly towards me.  You never wavered on faith of Jesus Christ  no matter the struggles in life.   Forgiving and resilient  ways.  God's got you now. He makes things right in heavenly places. May Gods Grace be upon you and with your spirit. See you someday.  Sharon

I was watching of all things a movie with Paul Newman and got thinking again of the friend I have just lost, Hank Shireman. The piercing blue eyes, a somewhat fierce appearance, with integrity and a sense of justice, a love of truth, dry or ironic humor, a gruff exterior with warmth underneath.

Hank was generous with his time and resources. Lying in his lounge chair in a Worcester hospital he was telling me about tools he wanted me to have from his shop and how to use them. Earlier when we had a guest speaker teaching about Jesus and the true church, Hank figured out the recording and made dozens of labeled CDs to mail out. After fellowship one time he took my dining room chairs home, reglued and clamped and touched them up to last another decade.

I have shared his Old Ironsides poem with friends and associates interested in naval and Boston history.

I met Hank around 2008. He wasn’t 100% strong as he wanted to be. He never complained, just wanted to be his best for Eileen and friends and anyone who needed his help. My visits with him in recent months were very special. He shared many memories of his military service, musical training, family life, and he clearly planned for his time ahead to be filled with new projects and ways of serving. He just wanted to get home and get busy.

It is a comfort to me to know that Hank's next conscious moment will be when he beholds the face of his savior and ours, Jesus Christ.

You called me “Young Lady”, when I wasn’t feeling particularly young or lady-like.
Your life wasn’t easy—physically—but that was never your focus. You rose above it—always giving, encouraging, sharing.
“Hope is the thing with feathers That perches in the soul And sings the tune without words And never stops at all.”
Rest easy, Hank. We’ll see you again, sweet friend and brother.
