I really got to know Auntie Hannah at the funeral of her mother, my great-grandmother.  It was love and admiration (for her) ever since.  I'm so grateful to have had the time to hear her stories, feel her passion, and be in her presence.  May she rest in peace, and rejoice for eternal life with her loved ones.

I had a chance to know her great life through the book, Japanese Ancestry and American Experience.
Auntie Hannach is my father’s cousin, They were coincidentally born in 1925. I had met her a couple of times in the US. The last one was at her residence in San Jose’s. It was lucky for me to touch a piece of her great life, Please accept our deepest condolences from Japan.

I always enjoyed the Takahashi visits out West when we were growing up. Later on as adults, my husband, Ian, and I visited Auntie Hannah and Uncle Frank at their home in Napa on several occasions and will always cherish those visits. She was a great lady, who was very giving and carried herself with such dignity and grace. May she rest in peace…we will miss her very much.

I loved grandma dearly. I was always excited to see her, listen to her stories, and play in her garden. We debated politics, practiced martial arts, and hiked up Machu Picchu together. She encouraged me to read less and play more. In Napa, she hosted O-Bon and O-Mochutsuki at her home so that we could learn Japanese culture. May her spirit find peace, love, and adventure.

The stories shared here, in her obituary, and the pictures are amazing.  What a full life Hannah Takahashi had. May she rest-in-peace.  My hugs and condolences to the family members, especially Joan and Catlin.

As a child, I saw my mom as the most beautiful, fun-loving person around. Mom had poise, erect posture and a lovely melodic voice. As an adult, I began to learn the multi-facets of mom -- her bravery, fears, desires, disappointments, and even flaws.  She was a remarkable woman and a loving mother. I miss her companionship, and presence. Her spirit has flown to the flowers and trees.
