In this season of Thanksgiving we are grateful to have had Gloria in our lives. She was my (James) first cousin and a good friend. Both Gloria and I were born in small immigrant town in the northwest corner of North Dakota. We have enjoyed visiting about our Scandinavian heritage and values. God bless her memory.

We met Gloria while at Los Gatos Christian Church, where she and Warren were leading Dennis’ Shepherding group. A couple of years before Dennis and I were married in 2000, I went on a Christian Legacy Tour with Gloria. We had a wonderful time visiting Boston, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C, and Virginia’s “Historic Triangle.” Since we only had time to visit one of the Smithsonian Museums, we chose the Art Museum. But even that museum alone was overwhelming. We did a ton of walking on that tour, and I recall Gloria didn’t have rolling luggage, so I often carried her bags. Sometimes when we were visiting historic sites, and there was little time to see both the site and the gift shop, we hit the gift shop first! We helped Warren and Gloria move from Willow Glen to Redding, and they gave us their mattress, which we used for many years. In 2012 we both joined Gloria for a Baltic cruise with her “other” church group, Immanuel Lutheran of Saratoga. Again we had a fun and educational tour. Gloria was a really fun traveling companion. I was concerned that at the age of 85, she might be a bit slower, but we had a hard time keeping up with her! She told me later she was determined not to slow anyone down. Before Gloria moved back to the Bay Area, we visited her in Redding, where she and Warren lived for several years. She didn’t want us to visit until the guest room was cleaned and arranged just the way she wanted it. We enjoyed seeing her beautiful home and watching the flying turkeys! We also attended her church, and, of course, visited the Sundial Bridge and Shasta Dam. Warren had passed away by then, and Gloria gave Dennis some of his tools, which he still uses.
Gloria, you were a blessing to us for many years. You are the most kind and giving person we know. Looking forward to our next adventure when we are with you again. Our memories of you will be with us always. Give our love to Warren when you see him.
With wonderful and loving thoughts,
Linda and Dennis Romatz
Mrs. Campbell was our neighbor in Saratoga back in the 1970s...always kind, gracious, and calm. Her kids were all a part of the Jerries Drive tribe -- great days! Thinking of you all...
I met Gloria at Los Gatos Christian Church in a shepherding group. We became friends right away. Gloria was so warm, kind and gracious. She had so many interests, and whatever she took an interest in she excelled at.. She was a gracious hostess, a forever friend, a spiritual sister and a godly influence. I will miss our conversations, and look forward to the day we meet again.
We know Gloria Campbell from our Saratoga Lutheran Church for many years. She was always graceful, kind, and engaging. Her warm words and hugs were gifts she shared with many. She had an independent spirit and always ensured to look out for others' well-being over hers.
We are also good friends with her kids. My husband and her son were in confirmation classes together way back.
We last saw her on her birthday in January at a restaurant and wished her well!
Gloria Campbell will be greatly missed by many who knew her!
God Bless!
