Gloria was an invaluable member of our Brookline short-story group: a close reader; deeply perceptive; widely read; a careful listener whose own words were well chosen. Moreover, she was elegant and gracious, and blessed with a good sense of humor. I was privileged to know her, but for too short a time.
Gloria and I went to Temptations Café together every day, and we talked and talked and laughed. She was such a good listener and always supportive of me. Our difference in age didn’t matter; we were just friends. As it said in the obituary, Gloria was a gifted teacher. She could clearly explain the things going on in the world
I went to Temptations this morning and had a cup of coffee in her honor.
