Georgi was an extraordinary person in my life.  She lead a fascinating, successful, yet modest life.  She helped me in so many ways.  She was a wealth of truth, knowledge, positivity and her strength
was amazing.

Georgi heard I was in horticulture and had a gardening business.  She called me when I lived in Anchorage. She needed someone to take care and preserve a very important and very personal memorial garden built and planted for her husband who had passed in an iron working accident.
She also needed help at her home gardens.  Which were designed by an award winning designer with some rare and special perennials.

When I arrived at her home I was so excited.  This home I must have driven by  1000 times admiring how it sat different on the lot  from all the other homes, the gardens and front entrance were interesting the location was perfection.

I walked up and knocked on the door and out came Georgi with that contagious smile.  We walked together down to her husband’s memorial garden at Westchester Lagoon.  She told me all about it. She was so interesting and so happy.  Then she mentioned she had a knee replacement and cancer.  I didn’t pry and ask questions I just knew I needed to take care of that garden.  I waited a day or two and she called me and told me she wanted to hire me.  I was so happy.  I would get to enjoy these gardens, admire this beautiful home, and later on make a dear friend whom I worshipped.
Georgi always came outside to take a break from her work to visit with me while I was weeding, planting or pruning.  I got to know her well and she got to know me.  She was so easy to talk to and always offered sound advice or made me think twice before making a decision.  Later when I was needing some personal help and advice Georgi offered up her professional connections and even her home to me. I stayed at that beautiful, interesting, home filled with a lifetime of love.  You could feel it in every room of the house.  After it was time for me to go It was so hard.  But yet I knew and always will know that Georgi gave me the wings I needed to fly.
I am broken hearted. But yet I know her spirit is still with all of us and that she smiling.  Always smiling.
I love you Georgi.
