My freind Sue Briggs sent me the notice of Mr. Mazur's passing. We were his students in 5th grade in around 1966. Sue had him again in 6th grade. This was Sharon, Ma.
She texted me that in his class she was to memorize "The Wreck of the Hesperus" by the poet Longfellow.
Here we were all these years later...us reading the poem and discussing poetry. He was a good teacher
George Mazur was my 5th grade teacher in Sharon, Ma, in 1966. George was a wonderfully creative teacher that would include music, poetry and art into his daily curriculum. He also influenced his young charges in so many ways. His life continues in the hearts of men and women that cherish the time he spent teaching. Please see story.
