My deepest sympathy goes to your family.  My heart is saddened by the loss of a great friend.  We had recently been back in touch, because Chris was my "go to" when I needed laughter.  I wish I was the one that was able to give him that gift back.  May the many memories stay cherished in your minds.  Dina Thibodeau

Joan and I are shocked and saddened by Chris' death.  The description of him as smiling and eliciting laughter is spot on, and we shared many laughs together.  He was a one-of-a-kind guy who'll be missed terribly.  Our sympathies to his family who have been our family for so very long.  We love you all, and share your grief.

I have many wonderful memories of Chris even though I haven't seen him in several years.  He could find humor in anything & his personality just pulled people together.   Chris never met a stranger.   Out of his humility and cheerfulness, he's made many friends over the years, all of which undoubtedly will miss him terribly.  My thoughts & prayers are with the entire Chalkley Family.

Please accept our deepest sympathies.  We at Lockwood Broadcast Group had the pleasure of working with Chris for a number of years.  He was so kind and wonderful.  We loved when he stopped by to check on us, his client.  His clients were important to him, and you knew that. He always had a great smile!  Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

I met Chris at Virginia Wesleyan. He was such tremendous guy, always upbeat and full of life. I'm just so grateful he took the time to know me and i am so grateful that he was my friend. There will only be one Chalkley!!! His family is in my family's thoughts and prayers. Rest in peace Chris , you will be missed but not forgotten

Chalk at 50 was just as energetic and wide open as anyone I have ever met.  He always made time for those around him he cared about and refused to walk past anyone of them in life without making them smile.  Chris was a fierce friend, a sports fanatic, a story teller and shared what he loved with everyone.  “Chris left it all on the field.”
Thank you God for Chris Chalkley.
Rest in peace brother.  I will miss you.

I met Chalk in college. He was very popular at VWC from the second he stepped on campus and remained that way long after he left. He always had a smile and a kind word for everyone he met. To this day, I can't ever remember him saying a negative word about anyone. He will be missed by many and leaves a legacy of love and laughter w/ his VWC family. RIP Chalk ...Jonnie

I had the privilege of knowing Chris when he was at BHS. He played softball on my church softball team at St. Paul's.  He was always a lot of fun to have around, and was well liked by his friends.Tonight I ran into a friend that told me of his death.  What a tragic loss.  I will keep his family in my prayers, as I pray for each of his friends from my youth group daily.  God Bless you all!

Listening to Tom Petty tonight. First album you gave me. Room at the Top is a phenomenal song and had me thinking of you as I often do. Love you buddy, hope you and Grandaddy are debating sports. Til the next time.

Glad this site is still around. Kendal and my kids are getting older and you would love every minute of it. Listened to some songs with you in mind tonight. I miss the hell out of you. I love you Chris. I hope you're laughing at my follies as a dad. Springsteen said in Terry's Song they built the Taj Majal but they only built one of you. Miss you buddy. RIP
