In the almost 50 years I have know Gary, he always put family & friends first. He was such a good natured, kind, easy going person that it would be difficult for anyone not to like him and want to be with him. He was a loyal fan of his sports teams, SF Giants & SF 49ers. He made the world we live in a better place for all of us. He is going to be missed by many of us. R.I.P. Gary
Mary and Gary have been clients/friends for more than 10 years. Gary has always been an easy going, likable and friendly guy! We loved to talk about our newest favorite TV show to binge watch! Longmire was a particular favorite!
I will miss you Gary!
I became Gary's supervisor in 2009 and we hit it off great. Anything from helping with the morning crossword puzzle or arranging time off so he could go to the 2010 Giants World Series Championship parade. Two bay area guys finding each other in Arizona. I will miss our lunches together Gary, rest in peace.
Gary and I went back 40 years when we worked in Juvenile Probation at Durango. We became friends almost immediately due in part to Gary being the only person who knew who Royal Dano was ( actor) ! Gary even put up with me being a dreaded Yankee fan :) He was a cherished friend and a kind, thoughtful, loving father, husband, brother and man! Miss you Gary. Always will!
Gary and I met as hospital volunteers. We spent many hours discussing old westerns and all the things we had in common. It was a true joy having Gary as a friend, even if it was a short time. He will be truly missed by everyone in his life. I can still hear his great laugh!
Yesterday you would have turned 70....
I think of you all the time... Praying for Mary and Karma as they learn to live without you...
You are missed.
Adrienne
It's been a year and it's almost harder now than it was at the beginning. I was angry at first - that he didn't go to the doctor sooner - that he didn't tell the doctor about the symptoms returning until I told the doctor. Because of COVID, Gary went to the doctor alone and didn't admit many things (like his diabetes) that may have been a factor. Men - please don't do this.
The memories are so clear now: our wedding, the car trips, the cruises with my family, the trips to San Jose. And just being together. Since we weren't able to have a child together, it was such a joy to have Karma in our lives as our child. She was his joy. They were so close. I am so glad that she had 16 years of the best father a girl could have.
