I didn't have classes with Fred but I knew plenty folks that did. We became acquainted anyway. I helped wire that new house. Later I lived a couple blocks away and repainted his first Case 580, hauled his manure, and generally did neighborly things. I've tried to stay in touch in spite of moving away. I hadn't got around to that yet this summer. Like so many, I'll miss that guy a lot.
I had the good fortune to have known Fred Wolfley for 40+ years. We first met when he was teaching high-school history classes and what a great instructor he was ! He had an engaging and upbeat teaching style that kept your attention. He truly was one of the great ones. We remained friends over the years and I got to know Jan, his lovely wife as well. He will be missed !
Mr. Wolfley was my 9th grade social studies teacher on Ft. Richarson@ Arcurus Jr High. I met up with him several times, once in the middle of Bristol Bay, fishing...I also would run into him at the Post Office where I worked or the grocery store.....sure gomma miss him.
I had Mr Wolfley for 2 classes at Ft. Richarson@ Arcurus Jr High. Batchelor Arts and Math. I was also his teachers aid for a math class. He was an amazing teacher. He was able to connect with kids in a way most teachers couldn't. I, along with a bunch of his students, went to his wedding. I have thought of him often over the past 50 years.
