I'm so glad I was able to stay in touch with Papa Fred and Mariangela over the years. They are the kindest, most accepting people I have ever known. I will miss the expressions on his face any time I told him inappropriate stories, especially when they included his bunny. Love to everyone - JennGA

I have strong memories of my dad talking on the phone with Uncle Fred. They were always giggling, telling jokes, and almost always in tears from laughing so hard. Fred had the best laugh,  and  was able to put up with my dad's shenanigan's (especially when he'd make fun of Fred's famous "Tuna Surprise" casserole). Fred was a truly exceptional person in every way. Sending love from Seattle.

Mr. Matalone was a great teacher and a great man. I always remember him as a gentle soul who cared for all his students, even us troubled youth. I just now found out about his passing. I'm grieved because he was a special teacher that always stood out to me because of his care and compassion for all of us who were fortunate enough to know him. God bless his surviving family. ????
