Godmother Frances was hard working and full of common sense. I will miss her wisdom, honesty and comments about changes and challenges she saw for African Americans from the Great Depression to President Obama. She was a treasure. I will hold her memory close to my heart. My grandfather, Leo Bruce, used to tell me, "Always listen to Frances. She's a smart woman." And he was right.

The McGriff family in Oregon was unaware that dear Aunt Francis had passed away.  We are filled with grief in not being able to attend her service.  I miss her very much.  She was a wonderful person and we will never forget her or Uncle Tyree.  Niece, Denyse McGriff
