I am honored to have known Federico and have been a part of his immigration journey. He was an amazing human being and was a kind and loving soul. He will be missed. Rest In Peace my friend.
Jaime was such a character, and he'll be missed. He was so brave in facing his last struggle, and his faith in God was admirable. I can't help but wonder if he's come across Mom and Dad in Heaven yet. I know Noreen will get a kick out of him.
This beautiful photo of Jaime shows his kind heart, and youthful spirit. He became my third brother over time, and losing him was losing a part of our family. I know he is in a better place, far from the troubles of life, and he will be there to greet the rest of us when our time comes. I can't wait to see him again.
Jaime could bring light to a room and smiles to those in it as the photo shows. What strength and resolve he showed in his final months -- an incredible man in a heart-breaking situation. He loved God steadfastly, and he now is beyond pain in the embrace of his/our Risen Lord--and Jaime's smile is now lighting Heaven.
I will always remember Jaime's 'passion for pepusas' and the big smile it brought to his face when he spoke about them. But most of all I will remember his warm smile, kind heart, and the deep affection he had for his life partner, John. May he Rest in Peace.
A light want of on sat.night in the pass of my best friend Jamie we are and always will be friends this not goodbye but I will seeyou again in a very happy place you will be missed but never forgotten.
Jaime defined my life from the day we serendipitously met, 22 years ago. Very different from each other, we enriched each other and learned from the other's experiences, dreams, families, memories, emotions, quirks, needs, problems, friends, innocence. His unexpected death at such an early age seems cruel and unfair, and I will feel a great emptiness when I open the door to his room.
It is in difficult times that one's true love is most evident, when one partner becomes totally helpless, and when the other gathers all his strength and courage to stand by and assist him in his final uncertain moments on this earth.
This moment seals John and Jaime's relationship forever.
Tony was the only child of Sonia Peñate-Reyes and Antonio Monterroza. His mom was a great candy maker and great cook. His father was a local merchant in his great Santa Ana, El Salvador. From his mother side Tony had many many uncles and aunts (all passed) and many many cousins some already gone too. The family had three F. Antonio’s, a family tradition carried by his mother; name after a parent or brother/sister. In Tony’s case his mother named him after her 11th brother, the 1st F. Antonio was Tony’s grandfather, Tony himself ends at the number 3 spot with name and now there is none after him. From his mother side their exist German and French roots, that also carried to Tony. Tony was a beautiful soul and what I will remember most is his distinctive upbeat laughter. Tony your Tio Tony went last year and I know that both of your spirits are well and are alive as ever! I am Grace his cousin, (the 4th Grace and there is none after me.)

Chris Hawley writes: It took time and patience to gain Jaime's trust. i learned much farher in time why. His life was hard and heartbreaking. We were just starting to become real friends. It's all cruelly unfair. I will remember my friend as a good man; strong and humble. But most importantly, for his good nature. He was just such a nice guy. So rare a soul these days. I loved this man.
Thinking about you on your birthday, Jaime. Happy Birthday in Heaven. I love you. -Donna
It's hard to believe it's been a year since your passing, Jaime. Thinking of you on this day. With love, Donna
I think of Jaime every day, look at his smiling face in the photo on my dresser, yearn to hold him and tell him I love him. This year has gone so quickly. It still seems he might be in the next room. I hope there is an afterlife, and that Jaime is with all those he loves who have gone before him. He deserves this love. My love for him is as strong as ever, and fills my days. -John
