Esther was a remarkably smart, passionate, and generous colleague. She mentored me when I was a young faculty member, and I learned a lot about leadership from her role as Senate President. She intensely cared about her students, her colleagues, and the college itself. Thank you for everything for have given us, Esther! So grateful to have had you in my life!
Mrs. Goldberg was one of the best teachers I ever had. As a Russian language/Political Science teacher, she was a mentor, a friend, and impacted my life in many ways. She was always willing give her time as long as you made an honest effort. She will be missed. She instilled in me a love of Russian language, Culture, History, especially our debates of the influence Rasputin had on the Imperial Court. This later led to me visiting Russia and meeting my wife there. She taught the skill of debate and how you can still be friends with someone, even if you come from different ends of the political spectrum. She always encouraged us as students to approach the World with an open mind and to think globally as well as locally. I still rely on the wisdom that she imparted to me many years ago. To a life well lived. RIP Mrs. Goldberg
