Ruth Miller, a current resident at Pettee House. He immediately struck me as an intelligent,  wise, and kind man. My mother Ruth, valued their short friendship, and I know she visited him at Strong as well . I wish you peace, and know that even in a brief time, he made an impact

My sincere condolences to the Schmitt family. I was a graduate student of Dr. Schmitt in the early 90s where he inspired me to focus on computer architecture as a research subject.  Dr. Schmitt was kind and understanding all the while being a superb teacher and mentor.  I will always remember him as an influential educator who had tremendous impact on my career and life. I will miss him.
