We're so sorry to hear of Ellen's passing. We were lucky to know her in Scituate these past few years and to enjoy her wonderful story telling and share her love of Notre Dame. Such a bright spirit will be dearly missed. Our warmest wishes to her family at this difficult time.

The first time I met Ellen she was hand sewing a rip in the white sofa on Surfside. We had just arrived for a week rental in 2009 and found a treasured friend. My husband asked about a picture on the wall, turned out they knew many of the same people. Our visits to Scituate won't be the same, she was such a highlight of our summers. History came alive through her stories.
