Elena Hopkins was a marvel. One of the most gracious, warm friendly people I’ve ever met. Within 10 minutes of first meeting her, I found myself in a deep conversation about Liberation Theology and radical Latin American politics. Not the normal conversational fare with the mother of friend!
Whenever I saw her, I felt welcome. I miss her.
