One of the nicest guys we met lately
Ed was like a brother! We consulted on many topics for more than 3 decades. We traveled with our wives several times to Europe and the northwest. I biked, hiked, and swam with him over the years. I will miss him.
Ed was my swim buddy and my friend. Over the years, he and I solved all the world’s problems many times and talked a lot about our children and grandchildren. He was decent and kind. Ed Murray was a good man who will always be remembered by those who knew him and loved him.
I wrote more in a story, but I wanted to leave a short tribute too.
This example epitomizes Ed's sweet and kind nature.
Ed was so good to his goldfish! Didn't that goldfish live for 10 years or so? And he got it as a prize at the fair? That goldfish had a great life, thanks to Ed.
Ed was a swim buddy and friend for many years. We'd have great conversations about his family (he was so loving being a grandad!), travel destinations, and current events. He was an interesting, thoughtful, wonderful guy in every way. And he was one of the most fit! What a loss... He'll be missed by many.
I met Ed in 1989 as a new owner living on Forest Avenue where Ed also owned a unit. I quickly realized that Ed was not only the kindest, sweetest man I'd ever met, but also that he actually was THE BRIGHTEST BULB IN THE CIRCUIT!! Over these 30+ years, I shared wonderful meals with Susan and Ed, and we went to France together. I loved spending time with Ed and Susan and will miss him.
45.01°N x 122.8°W. That's the location of my house in Silverton Oregon. August 21• 2017. Also, the exact spot over which the total ECLIPSE of th SUN had our Ed and Susan park themselves here for 'just a few' snaps for the album! What an honor to host them! I'll never forget his childlike enthusiasm, Contagious in every way! AND his photos! worthy of Nat'l GEO. Every day...now an eclipse.??
My memories of Ed are visceral. I haven't seen him for the past few years - and yet it's so easy to conjure up an image of a man constantly smiling, often laughing, always looking for answers to challenging questions. He was driven to support others and good causes. As a participant in then volunteer for the Cleantech Open, Ed donated his time and intellect without reserve.
We've known Ed and Susan ever since they first met and got together. What a great person and partner! Posted a picture from their wedding here.
We’ve known Ed and Susan from the beginning. Many wonderful travel days, dinners and hikes with wonderful conversations and of course good wine. Ed was always so cheerful and kind. I so loved his smile.
Ed, you are missed. Rest in peace. Be surrounded with love.
I knew Ed my entire life as my aunt's life partner. As a kid, there weren't many overlapping conversation topics between us. But going into adulthood, he shared his wealth of knowledge with me about finances and investing, and he always had valuable life experiences to share. Our world will never be the same without him, and he will be dearly missed. Rest in peace, Ed.
Ed and Susan have been neighbors for many years. In all our conversations with Ed we were reminded of what a kind and generous person he was. Mike’s fondest memories of Ed are discussions with him on the techie aspects of the car when he bought his Tesla, home improvement projects and of course, how best to film the total solar eclipse. He had some amazing pictures. Ed, we will miss you.
A beautiful, gentle soul. A rare gift to my dear friend, Susan. Both in my heart forever.
Very sorry to learn of Ed's passing. Condolences to all his family and many friends. Attended many classes together at George Washington Univ. back in the late 60's. Sailing on the Potomac (racing actually) with him is such a wonderful memory. Last saw Ed in 1973 on a trip back from Stanford when he delivered a beautiful wedding present to my wife and me. RIP.
