I worked for Ed in Procurement at Bechtel for 6 of my 18 years of service, and Ed literally saved my life;
In 1978 I signed up for a two year contract to serve as Manager of Procurement in Jubail, Saudi Arabia;
But one year into my assignment, my blood pressure shot up to 165/115;
My doctor wrote a letter to Ed requesting that I return to the US;
Ed granted his request and I returned to the San Francisco office where Ed reassigned me to the $1.4Billion New Zealand and Alaska SEa-Lift projects where I worked for Ed for 2 more years;
I am convinced that Ed's concern for my health saved me from suffering a major cardiovascular incident and that Ed saved my life.
Ed was a great people manager, and, I loved working for him
