The obituary was indeed lovely and FULL of Douglas's amazing accomplishments as a doctor. But for me, who knew him from his undergraduate days, the most wonderful thing about Douglas was his kindness, inner goodness and sweetness. His love for Sallie Craig was beautiful, and in our house we called them "the lovebirds". I send my deepest sadness that he has left all of us, esp. Sallie Craig
