Doug gave us his humor, sarcasm, go to hell attitude and under it all a true friend. Thank you for boar hunting, Giants games at the Stick, tailgating, pig feeds, political "discussions", many many fun meals, drunken nights we really can't remember and for introducing us to Wendy.   I miss you

There are no words to properly describe a memory with Doug. His sarcasm and humor were indescribable. His boys will live on in his steps: though not Doug, they are the best examples of him...his genius, his humor, his loving company- he was always so welcome with his time and constant goal of wanting to make everyone smile. Love Doug. Love the Perstons more than anything.

He is my Husband Uncle, He looked up to him so much, He is like a father to him. Meeting him for the first time I don't know what to expect, but he is so funny and easy to talk to. We talk a lot about food (e.g lumpia and pancit). We won't forget him. Uncle Doug and my Daughter Sophia shared a BIRTHDATE. You will be missed Uncle Doug.

Doug was a funny man!  He helped us at the Elk Mountain Highland Games.   Great smile, attitude and told me he wanted to volunteer again.  Thank you Doug, and blessings to all of you for this sad loss.

Doug was suppose to out live me.  That is, once he quit driving like a wacked out teenager, which, he never really did.  He loved to drive, and most of my memories have a car, motorcycle, and beer in them.  He liked guns too, and there were plenty.  I’m sorry I wasn’t there to see him drive the Gray Ghost (1967 Falcon) around the interior of the stadium at UC Berkley.  That was Doug.  I’m sure there was a beer there somewhere.

Doug last said “I’ve lived my life.”  That was his goodbye. There is more truth in that than the words.  Doug fought life, and it fought back.  I can’t remember him ever complaining – and I mean ever.  He went at it head on – and he was as smart and focused as they come.  He came back with lumps, but he came back and created a life along the way.  That was his life:  do, take your lumps, don’t whine, make life worth living, and never give up.  Doug hated whiners, and he lived life on a different level – his own. Since I live far away, it is like the phone will ring and it will be him.  Doug was honest to a fault, and somewhere inside, I’ll always be waiting for that call.  We had some good times, the best.  Love ya Doug, always will.  You were more than worth the effort, and will be missed.
