Uncle Doug always had a warm smile and a hug for me. Though he was soft-spoken, his words were often truth bombs filled with love and acceptance. I am so very blessed to that my life touched by his gentle nature. Blessed travels, kindred soul. Namaste.

I feel so fortunate to have met Doug and Laurel through marimbas. Without Doug's vision to create marimba music in Anchorage, I wouldn't even know it was possible and it's been such a gift. Doug showed me that not only could you play music beautifully, but you could also play it upside down! He truly had a brilliant mind and a talent to bring people together.

It was a privilege to have Doug in my life as a friend and mentor.  His passion for flying, the environment and nutrition was a beacon for me.  I learned so much and he gave me inspiration to learn more. Doug was the epitome of what a professional pilot should be.

Laurel. We met 22 years ago at your yard sale when you and Doug gave up the 9-5 in Long Beach and Alaska was your destination. Everything since has been an adventure.

We flew to Homer from Anchorage on a full moon. Then Doug flew me over the glaciers and onto a lake where we explored a blue luminous glacier cave. My hear is warmed. ??

An incredible journey to meet Doug and Laurel as I welcomed them to Dreamtime! So many playful dinner's, stay overs, flying trips, and into Anchorage for marimba ?? It has always been a light in my heart to witness Doug's love for Laurel. He's been one in a million for me. I love you Doug, forever

Doug was a super guy and great pilot. We shared the cockpit many of times and I always appreciated his company. His bringing marimba to Anchorage really made my wife Kate happy too. He will be missed.

Dear Laurel, during this time, I ask the universe to enfold you with love and care. I extend my deepest condolences to you and your family. I remember the pure clarity of Doug. He was one of the most gracious, intelligent, and creative men I've ever met. To watch the two of you hold hands together was a privilege. The music you created together has left an indelible vibration of healing.

Doug was a very special person and it was always great when we got to spend time together.  I played had the honor of playing marimba with him the first time he played when he joined our band in Homer and the last time he played when I sat in with his Anchorage marimba friends at Valley of the Moon park. We miss you very much Doug.
