I met Jimi and his family 15 years ago, and not many women can say this... but I probably fell for his mom, Doris, before I even fell in love with Jimi!?? She was THE SWEETEST woman I had ever met.

By the time we got pregnant, Jimi’s mom was too sick to understand that the little boy we had created was named after her, the strongest, most genuine and kind soul we’ve both ever known.

But I know that she knows now, and that Decker will always have his Nana as his guardian angel watching over him.

I am forever grateful. Rest In Peace, Mom

Doris and I were close friends in high school and remained close all through the years. I loved her like my sister.  She came for a visit in October and we had the best time. I ready miss her and always will. We spoke almost every day. Love you my dear friend

Doris was such a wonderful person and had so many great qualities. She was in a league of her own. She was the most courageous woman I have ever known. She will be missed, but never forgotten.

I miss Doris already, just knowing she's no longer with us. I always referred to her as "beautiful Doris" because she was just that, inside and out. My heartfelt condolences to Jim, Jimi and Jennifer and their families. May GOD comfort you and keep you in those memories of a great wife, mother and grandmother.

As we travel life's journey, it is very rare to meet someone who lived the values Doris embraced. She possessed a unique blend of love, compassion, and kindness. She was truly a behavioral role model who gave so much to others without asking anything in return.  Watching Doris display her caring personality clearly enhanced my life. She is loved and will be missed by everyone she touched.
