Thank you, family and friends, for visiting this website honoring the life of Don Kirchhoff. We will be adding photos of Dad through the years-- from childhood, to prep school athletics, to wartime, to teaching, to his retirement years. His was a long life, well-lived. Please feel free to offer photos or tributes to this website so family and friends can view and enjoy.

I had the honor of spending 5+ years with Uncle Don and Aunt Lois when they returned to Rochester after years enjoying the Florida sun. If we weren't "shooting the lock off" at various restaurants, he would transform into Chef El Donaldo. Discussions of politics and history over coffee.  Even at his end, he would say "I am fantastic kiddo".  A true gentleman and role model for all of us.

Best educator and all around inspirational person. Most influential in broading my thinking in high school.  A charismatic personality with strength of character.  He made the world a better place. I'm a better person for his influence in my life. May he rest in peace after a job well done. I will miss him at our next reunion, but I know his spirit will be there.  God bless his family.

Who didn't love Uncle Don. I've never met anyone who answered a phone so enthusiastically...every time.
I loved getting together to play some cards and chat about the family.  Shelby and Carly particularly liked playing Australian Rummy and taking his quarters...he never liked parting with them.  I loved him truly and will miss him greatly. He was just one special guy

Don was my beloved father in law. Never met a kinder, more caring, generous, selfless and sweet man!  A true gentleman... a real class act! I know why Lois fell in love with him and vice a versa! Don was always quick with ..What can I getcha? He was the host with the most! My co-workers love his expression, Shoot the lock off.. I got that from him and they did too! Going to miss you, Don!!
