Dennis and I had a great friendship along the way.  I helped him get a job at one point .... and he bought an old car of mine which he was very fond of while it propelled him.

Dennis has / had a very good heart.  He was maligned along the way, very wrongly from what I know.

Dennis is / was a very good man in so many ways it's sad that some may think poorly of a VERY giving man.  He helped me in many ways.  I did for him also.

Please remember him with a / many positive thought/s.
