Coach Tomes was an awesome coach & teacher. In 6th grade, he watched me throw a football playing around in gym class, & suckered me into trying the shot & discus. I'd never heard of either but he started my career! Under his leadership at Fairfield Middle School, the girl's track team was undefeated all 3 years I was there. When my sister came along 10 yrs later, she loved him, too.  RIP

He will be greatly missed.  Coach Tomes was great man who live a great life pouring into those around him.  Thank you Coach for being a friend and mentor to so many.  Blessings

Soupy was one of the greatest men that walked this earth. Heaven now has an angel unlike any other. He treated me like a daughter and always made sure I was taken care of. I got wrapped up in life and lost contact with him but you always think you have more time. I will never forget Soupy and he will be severely missed. He will always hold a place in my heart.
